About

I’m a 20-something working for Wildfire PR and Marketing in lovely Surbiton, Surrey, UK.

My main interest is in what I guess is loosely termed online PR – digital, social media, SEO etc. And I’m very interested in the transition between ‘new media’ and ‘old media’ and how this affects what we do as PRs and marketers.

My background is not typical. I’m a professional trained classical musician with a music degree, but I’ve always had an interest in technology and, more specifically the internet – with self-taught web development skills – launching my first website c. 14 years old!

I ran a e-commerce start-up whilst working in my first (on and offline) marketing job and that really focused my mind on forging a career in marketing. The agency world gives me an opportunity to grasp lots of diverse experiences and learn lots of new skills.

I live with my wife and cat!

About

This is my story. I've always been fascinated by the internet. My first passion was music and I studied a music degree at Birmingham University. But once graduated I quickly went back to the web working as a digital marketer. I also ran a web startup for a few years. In the need of a new challenge, I turned to the world of PR and now work as an Account Director at EML Wildfire. My interest is primarily looking at how PR professionals can make the most of the web and digital marketing. This blog contains my thoughts and things I find inspirational.
